Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” Glotfelter Dunkleberger, 84, of Hershey, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at her home.

Born on December 1, 1934, in Schuylkill Haven, she was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Alleman Glotfelter.

Betty retired as a Loan Officer for the former Hershey Bank after 35 years of service. She was a 1952 graduate of Hershey High School. Betty was a member of the Union Deposit United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Roadrunners Group and the Campbelltown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Along with her husband, Betty was an avid hunter and Phillies baseball fan, and would watch the Philadelphia Flyers ice hockey games. In addition, she enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises, and coin collecting.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer C. Dunkleberger, on October 17, 2018; one sister, Joanne Jenkins; and four brothers, Hector, Lester, Dale and Marlin.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle A. Wells of Hershey; and a grandson, Joe J. Wells of Shermans Dale.

A private graveside service will be held in the Hershey Cemetery with Pastor Amy M. Raser, her pastor, officiating.

Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the Union Deposit United Methodist Church, 34 West Main Street, Hershey, PA 17033.

Our sympathy to your family. We learned to know Betty and Elmer at Church of the Redeemer, then continued our friendship through Campbelltown Fire Company. We’ll remember them both fondly. Randy and Leigh Braden.
