Obituary

Obituary for George Raymond Soutner

George Raymond “Bud” Soutner, 48, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer in the UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital with his family by his side.

Born in Harrisburg on June 5, 1971, he was the son of Linda C. Lehigh Soutner of Hummelstown, and the late George Christopher Soutner.

Bud was a fabricator for Chem-Tainer, Hummelstown. He was a former member of the National Rifle Association. Bud’s passion was restoring cars and going to car shows; and he found enjoyment in riding and doing tricks on his bike.

In addition to his mother, Bud is survived by his loving wife, Melissa A. Wolfe Soutner; a step-son, Trenton Rastovac of Middletown; a step-daughter, Lauren Rastovac of Middletown; one brother, Joseph Soutner of Elizabethtown; two nephews, Christopher and Alexander Soutner; and his beloved Beagle-mix, Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Andrew R. Geib officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received in the funeral home for viewings on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 6 to 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036 to help offset the costs of the funeral expenses.

Dear Linda & Family, We are so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. We will always remember the fun times at car shows and Bud's warm smile and laughter. In Bud's honor a donation has been made to the 4 Diamond's per his wishes and in hope of finding a cure for this awful disease. May God be with you and yours through this difficult time. Am saddened to hear of Bud's passing. He was a good guy and a very good and trustworthy employee for years when I owned a pizza restaurant in Hershey back in the 90s. Always had a smile on his face.
