Obituary

Obituary for Joshua Aaron Ridge

Joshua Aaron Ridge, affectionately known as Mr. J, Mayor and the King of Middletown, 23, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Harrisburg on June 23, 1996, he was the son of Jennifer Hoch Brown wife of Mark H. Brown of Middletown, and George A. Ridge husband of Julia Lutz Ridge of Manchester.

Joshua was a bagger at the Giant Food Store in Middletown, and had worked for Goodwill Industries and Hershey Park. He was a 2015 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and had studied at the Penn State University Middletown Campus for a year. Joshua competed in the Special Olympics Area M in Track & Field, bowling and Bocci ball. He was also a Make-A-Wish child and loved his chips. He enjoyed attending LCBC Harrisburg Campus and First Baptist Church of York where he loved to praise his heavenly Father. Joshua also enjoyed bowling, watching WWE and Raw, and dancing and singing; and was an avid Steelers and Penn State fan. A man with an infectious personality, contagious laugh, and huge smile, there was never a person that Joshua met that wasn’t his best friend.

In addition to his parents, Joshua is survived by his brothers and sisters, George D. Ridge husband of Charity and Jessica Ridge Wetton wife of Dylan both of Middletown, Mitchell A. Brown of New Jersey, Elyse M. Suiney wife of Jose of Savannah, GA, Andrew H. Brown of Florida, Alexander H. Thompson husband of Natalie of San Antonio, TX, and Eileen Thompson Phillips wife of Brent of Columbus, OH; one niece, Sophia L. Wetton of Middletown; three nephews, Javier Suiney, Matteo Suiney and Eli Brown; paternal grandparents, George F. and Dian L. Ridge of Harrisburg, and William and Juanita Lutz of Manchester; and maternal grandparents, Daniel and Patricia Hoch of Harrisburg, and Shirley Brown widow of the late John W. Brown of Florida.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019, at 11:30 AM in LCBC, 4150 Chambers Hill Road, Harrisburg, with Pastor Dan M. Puz officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing in the church on Thursday from 10 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joshua’s “Go Fund Me Account” for Make A Wish and Special Olympics Area M.

Joshua, I was blessed to know you my spiritual Brother. The bible tells, "Absent from the body, and present with the Lord." I have no doubt where you are at this very moment. You are singing & praising our Lord in person, and you walk among the Saints. I know there will come time, where we are all gathered together again. It will be a great family reunion in God's Kingdom. Until then, watch over all of us, especially your Mother. Love ya lil Brother.

Rest in peace now Josh. You are in heaven with God who loves you. You are with Nan, and you get to see your extended family too. You were and still are and will always be loved by many. Give Nan a kiss for me and know we will all be together one day. We love you, Aunt Peggy and family.
