Obituary

Michael D. Deimler, 69, of Hershey, passed away on Monday, February 18,2019 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Hershey on September 11, 1949, he was the son of the late Wilson R. and Madalene Pearl Smith Deimler.
He graduated in 1967 from Hershey High School and attended HACC and Penn State University, Middletown Campus. He started the Banta and Deimler Construction Company; was a former employee of Pennsy Supply, Hummelstown; and retired after 30 years as the Second Shift Supervisor at the H. B. Reese Candy Company, Hershey.
Mike served in the Army Reserves. He was a former Derry Township Committeeman, and member of the Dauphin Young Republicans. Mike was a member of the Pole Bridge Hunting Club in Sullivan County; was a Past President of the Sand Hill Lions Club; and a member of the American Chestnut Foundation.
He enjoyed being a Grandfather, hunting, fishing, camping in Sullivan County and helping nature. Without a doubt, Mike was one of the “Good Guys” who always wore a white hat!
Mike is survived by three sons: David husband of Kylie, Jason and Patrick; his fiancé, Rose Perez; a brother, James; and two grandsons, Tein Michael and Hendrix Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Savannah L. Simmons Deimler, and his brothers, John F., Thomas R., Robert A. and William J.
Services were held Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. David H. Dow, pastor of St. Jacob’s Kimmerling Church, Lebanon, officiating. A viewing was held in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675.

Mike's mom and my dad were cousins. He was always a true gentleman. I always appreciated his visits to our office, as well as framing my house in 1979!
I am so glad that I bumped into Jim last Saturday and had a chance to visit Mike before he passed. He will be missed.
